I live by a very busy road and woke up to find over 400 15+ sec videos and my camera battery at 30%. I have battery set for optimize. I went through the settings and have my recording area set for my sidewalk/yard/driveway (because that is what shows up in the NON shadowed area). But it is still recording every car that drives by? I know this is killing the battery and I cant remove and charge it every 8 hours.

Cars reflect a ton of the sun's IR, causing false triggers. Removing the street from the camera view is the best solution but may also need to reduce the motion sensitivity in your modes and rules. Read the FAQs here on best camera positioning and mode/rules editing for full details if not familiar with these steps.
