Essentials camera distorted static sound at night

Hi,

I have just got another Essentials camera in black, hardware VMC2030AerH9 with the firmware ending 1583184 .

I am noticing when it records at night it will randomly have a static/distorted block of sound which lasts for about 8-10 seconds which can happen randomly throughout the clip. I haven’t noticed it during the day.

I have the same Essentials camera at the back of the house with the same firmware but the hardware is VMC2030AerH8 and this is fine.

Any ideas will be welcomed.

I may just send it back to Amazon.

I'd try 2 things before swapping at Amazon:

 

1) Swap cameras around to see if that makes a difference.

 

2) Remove and reinstall the camera in your account.

 

If neither helps, the swap is the fastest route.

Thanks for the reply.

I have swapped them over and done a forget and a factor reset all at the same time.

Shall let you know how I get on.

It is certainly only something which happened at night. I have the Color vision turned off and just use night vision as I don’t want a spot light to come on.

Hi,

Tried the above, just been out into the garden to trip the camera and the footage has the same distorted sound burst for about 10 seconds.

Looks like I will be sending it back.
