Your post model number is a VMB4000.  That is not a smarthub model (those are VMB4540 and VMB5000).  You can still connect the Essential cameras through that base.  

But you would need a subscription for cloud storage, and direct access to local storage requires a smarthub.  The only way to see the local recordings (for all cameras) with the VMB4000 is to eject the USB storage and review them on a PC.
