Battery Dead Not Recognizing Charger

Two cameras have a dead battery and do not recognize the USB charger. Firmware may need to be updated. How do I get them to charge / power on?

It's best to proactively charge the cameras rather than letting them totally die. You can try this method:

The key is to plug and unplug multiple times.
