I have had this essential camera for almost 90 days. I'd say it works 30% of the time. I restart all the time, and reconnect to my wifi. No help, still doesn't pick up motion nor records when I'm standing right in front of it. It's been 3 days since it's recorded anything. It drains my battery as well. So frustrated. My signal strength is good. When I go to live view, perfect every time, no issues. Then I close the app, walk in front of the camera and nothing is recorded! WTH

Signal strength isn't the only issue - there's quality, too. Another wireless device using the 2.4GHz band can interfere with the connection, too. Have you tried moving the camera closer to the router or base/hub, depending on how it's connected, to see if that makes a difference?

Do you leave the camera armed all the time? If not, are you using scheduling or geofencing?
Are you able to reliably live stream the camera?
Do you have activity zones enabled?
