Arlo Essential disregarding Smart Settings

Hallo zusammen,

vielleicht kann mir hier jemand weiterhelfen.

Ich habe drei Arlo Essential Kameras, die wir draussen angebracht haben. Kellertreppe, Sitzplatz, Wohnzimmer.

Die beiden draussen habe ich in deren Smartbenachrichtigungen so eingestellt, dass sie mir jeweils nur aufzeichnen sollen bei "Tier" und "Personen". Aber sie zeichnen einfach immer alles auf, auch die Bewegungen. Auch die Haustürklingel mit Kamera, hier sollten nur Personen aufgezeichnet werden, sie zeichnet alles auf, Bewegung, Tiere. Ich habe manchmal an einem Tag über 300 Bilder auf meinem Handy. Und ich kann es einfach nicht ändern. Ich hab es in den Smartbenachrichtigungen korrekt so eingestellt, dass es wirklich nur das aufzeichnet, was ich möchte, aber es funktioniert einfach nicht. Kennt jemand dieses Problem auch ? -und weiss jemand, was man da machen kann um dies zu beheben?

Smart notifications only controls the notifications.  There is no way to use those controls to turn off recordings. 

If you see "Feed" (not "Library") in your app, then you can filter the recordings you see in the Feed.  But they are still being made.

You can tune the motion sensitivity

Move around in the field of view (about 6 meters from the camera) while running the motion detection test, and find the lowest threshold that reliably detects you.  Then set the actual threshold to that value (or a bit higher).

Adjusting the camera field of view is another thing you could try.  Activity zones can be used to supress unwanted notifications and recordings - but they will not help the battery life, as the processing is done in the Arlo Cloud.

The cameras are more sensitive to motion at the bottom of the field of view than the top (and are more sensitive to motion across the field of view than motion straight towards the camera).  Sometimes you can use that to your advantage.  Inverting the camera (and also using the invert image setting in the app) will reduce the motion sensitivity at the bottom of the field of view, and that can reduce recordings of small animals on the ground, etc.
