I am being forced to upgrade due to EOL on my 6 Arlo cameras.  Since Arlo advertises direct Wi-Fi connection, I chose the 3 Indoor and 4 Outdoor Essential cameras.  Unfortunately, I am unable to connect to my Eero 6 mesh network.  Arlo Support is currently asking me to disable and downgrade many of the features of the high speed network I have built in order to try to connect these cameras.  So far, still waiting on one simple answer:  Why does the old EOL system work seamlessly but the "new" system won't connect.  To be clear, the camera will connect if I disable 5 Ghz, Bluetooth and cellular data on my mobile, but it never completes a firmware update so the connection simply times out.

See this article from Eero where it talk about temporary disabling 5ghz in order to get devices requiring 2.4ghz to install.

You should not have to disable anything on your phone. Maybe try and do the update using the web interface https://my.arlo.com/#/login in a browser on a computer.

AQlso, EOL does not mean the cameras will stop working. Read the emails sent to you as well as the FAQ:

Your existing system will continue to work for the foreseeable future.

True, but there is no guarantee once EOL is established.  It means service can continue or end after the specified date.  For me, it was time to upgrade my equipment.  I just made the assumption that new product meant it was more plug & play and integrated more easily into current systems.  The first Eero mesh network was released in 2016 and I installed mine in 2018 with no issues.   So when the new product arrived, I assumed the install would be just as smooth as my original Arlo system.  The support is poor and then you have to deal with scripted "support people" who only follow the step by step script.  I just fine it frustrating.  Thank you for your support.

The basic 2.4 Ghz only method is temporary, 15 minutes for Eero.  That didn't work for me.  i tried installing the cameras on my iPad, iPhone and HP Omen laptop, all with the same result, update not completed.  After 8+ hours of a multifactor Design of Experiments exercise, I discovered a work around, for me.  Just very disappointing.
