I have a bunch a Arlo Essential Spotlight currently connected by Wi-Fi to my home network through different Unifi AP (both indoor and outdoor).
I'm interested in buying a base station to be able to record on local storage, but I don't want to connect the camera to the base station through the dedicated Wifi network since it won't provide enough coverage.
Does the base station is able to connect to camera on the LAN without connecting them to the dedicated Wi-Fi?

TMK, it's only one or the other not both... FOR LOCAL STORAGE
You need them connected to the base unit's wifi network ( and the base needs a mem card ) to record local.
Otherwise the wifi connected cameras record only to the cloud.
To expand for better coverage, you can always run more than one base like I do.
