Hi,

I purchased 2 Arlo Essential Spotlight cameras at the same time. Been using them for about 4 months and have noticed one of them consistently gets about half the battery life as the other. I've tried to replicate the settings of both cameras exactly and they both have pretty much the same view of my garage and front door, just from opposite angles. I have even swapped their locations between charging sessions to check if that was a factor in battery life. They both have the most updated firmware. The one camera always runs out of battery life twice as fast as the other no matter what I do.

any suggestions and things to check with the fast draining camera? Would Alro replace the camera because of this?

Not possible with an essential, because the batteries aren't removable.

@sirpent0r you might try support (asking to exchange the camera), since you've ruled out location.  @JamesC , @Mark-V , or other mods might also have some advice.

If you've swapped locations and the issue follows the camera, this could indicate a hardware issue. I recommend that you contact Arlo support to further investigate.

thanks - i did open a support ticket.

I also tried another experiment and charged both cameras at the same time. The one with half the battery life also charged to full twice as fast. It's almost like it has half battery capacity total.

hopefully support will fix/replace it
