Arlo Essential Pan & Tilt 2025 & Basestation

I just got some of the new Pan & Tilt Cameras. Right now all of my Ultra V3’s are connected to the Hub so I can also see them in HomeKit. Is there a way to have the essentials use the hub also or is that something they typically add with a firmware update later?

The latter. New cameras almost never have connection to a hub baked in upon release. Hopefully there will be a notification when that firmware is released.

Thanks! I was hoping you would say they’d eventually add that functionality. Guessing there won’t be any notifications on it being release.

Usually @JamesC posts something here.

But to be very clear - neither @jguerdat nor I work for Arlo, so we do not know if they will ever add base station support for the pan-tilt cameras (or what base stations will support the cameras if they do add it).

While there are plans for Apple Home compatibility to be implemented later this year, there are no plans currently to implement Base Station/SmartHub compatibility. I will provide more information as it becomes available.

You really have no plans to add hub compatibility to the pan/tilt cameras? This doesn’t seem to make sense.
