Base station recording

Is there a reason I can not set the recording to my base station. 

Looks like you are forced into buying a subscription to store to cloud only?

The Arlo essential Pan Tilt camera only connects directly to a Wi-Fi router. It is not supported by a Smart Hub or base station.
