So, I gave into temptation and ordered a pan and tilt. It comes with a free trial. Last time I added a new product to my account, I ended up with a new user interface. I don't want to use the free trial in case I have problems with my legacy cameras in case I can't re-add them or whatever else fresh hell is out there in the waiting. So, what I was thinking was that I could assign the new camera to a completely new account, which would start the trial with that account, then remove it from that account and add it to my usual account. Would this work @StephenB @ShayneS ?
Thank you for you input!

The trial can only be consumed one time on one account. If the camera is removed after onboarding and added to a new account, the trial will not be applied.

That should work, but I think it is possible that Arlo would give you another trial when you add it to your normal account.
You could leave it in the new account, and use the friend feature. Not sure if the motor controls are shared, so you might need to share your existing cameras to the new account.

Thank you, @JamesC , for confirming.
Just wanted to check with you: if I were to add the camera straight away to my account and to have a trial (perfect present from Arlo for Christmas, actually), would I end up having problems with my legacy products Pro 2, HD and audio doorbell? For example, that I'd not be able to add them back once the trial is over. Have these problems been addressed?
As a lot of people on here and beyond, we're faithful Arlo customers with a mix of devices that we have accumulated over the years, but I'd like to be assured that I don't end up having problems running up to Christmas and beyond.
Thank you.

There are some regional differences, so I would encourage you to reach out to EU support in your region for full clarity. That said, the trial should not have any impact on your existing legacy cameras unless the addition of the new camera takes the total device count on your account beyond 5. If you go above 5 total devices (new and legacy included), you will need an active subscription plan to save recordings to the cloud.
If this new camera doesn't take your account total beyond 5, you should be all set. Once the trial expires on your new pan and tilt camera, it will require a subscription plan for recordings to save to the cloud but your legacy cameras should continue to behave as normal.
