Trying to get started....two days of frustration. How do I remove the batteries?

I could be wrong but it they are like essential cameras the battery is not removable.

You can't, as those models are fully sealed (batteries are not user-replacable).

Why are you wanting to remove them?  If the goal is to do a factory reset, then hold down the pairing button until the camera LED flashes amber (about 15 seconds).
