We're using these indoors to help look after our elderly mother. Is there a way to control which notifications we receive? The only instruction I found was to disable recording for certain things (e.g. person detected.) We still want to record everything and also want to leave some notifications active. Thanks for your help

General notifications are all or nothing and set in your modes and rules. Smart notifications can be set for people, animals, etc. so that's different.

Do you have the Basic subscription?  Or do you have Plus or Premium?

Not sure what you mean by "General notifications are all or nothing" - does that mean you either get all types of notifications or none at all, or did you mean you either get the specific notification along with recorded footage or nothing at all?

By setting 'smart notifications' can I still get all motion footage recorded while opting out of different notifications?

I'd love to know what difference this makes related to my question. But to answer you, I am on the 'trial' subscription, was planning to do "plus" plan for our 5 cameras once that ends.

Looking up the Arlo plans, I only see "plus" and "premium," where is this basic plan you mention? Link please and/or details appreciated. ....Or is "basic" just not having a plan at all?

"Basic" works a bit differently from "Plus" and "Premium".

With "Plus" and "Premium", if you turn off a smart detection option (people, package, etc), you won't get notifications, but you should still get the recordings of these events.

I meant that the normal notification (not one that uses the Smart classifications) are controlled by your modes and rules as well as the phone's settings for the app. If set up in each camera rule to notify, everyone gets that notifications unless someone has disabled them for the entire app in the phone settings.

That is the way it is supposed to work (though as I said above, "Basic" works a bit differently).
