Just bought a new Essential 2 for a location that is NOT home..
I want this to be armed all the time , EXCEPT when we go there..
is this now even possible? - I used to do it before with geofencing when we could add a new mode , but it seems we are prevented now from Creating a new mode (is that right?- surely not ...)
is what I need now even possible?
If not Ive just bought a useless camera as I need its rules to be separate from main "home "
Thanks in advance

Ouch..thats not ideal...
will have to manually disarm the new camera then..how dissapointing
..we can only hope they put back a very useful feature. !

The app now explicitly supports locations, so one option is to set up a second location. That will have its own modes, etc. The downside is that the second location will need its own subscription. (FWIW, the terms of service always required this, but the old app interface never enforced it).
You can alternatively modify the Armed Home and/or the Standby mode to arm the new camera. But geofencing won't work for both locations, you'd have to pick one, and manually arm/disarm the camera(s) at the other.
I expect Arlo will add back custom modes, given the number of customers who need them. But of course we'll need to wait and see.
