Privacy shield not doing its job

I have set my two cameras up outside the front of my house and set up the privacy areas so they don’t pick up the passing traffic but it doesn’t seem to be working. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

Privacy zones don't exclude things from being detected.  To do that you need to set up activity zones.

8. Do privacy zones work when I use activity zones?

Yes, you can create the activity zones and privacy zones. Activity zones will prevent the recording and smart notification if motion was outside the zone, and privacy zone will conceal the specific area in the recording or live stream.
