I have 4 Essential outdoor cameras. They detect motion and notify me when activated, but they do not record. I am able to manually record and it shows up in the app. It doesn’t follow the basic rule that was setup in arlo secure that I have purchased. Unlimited cameras with 30 day storage of videos. I have the latest IOS update.

What have you tried and what do you see? Have you recreated rules to see if that helps? Have you rebooted the cameras (or the hub, if so connected)? Have you tried removing a camera from your account and adding it back in?

I have recreated rules, removed and added the cameras back to the system. These do not have a base unit. Am I missing something there? I thought these were wifi only. I can make a manual recording and they show up in my feed on the app.

Sorry, I missed the Gen. 2 part so yes they cannot currently connect to a base or hub, just WiFi.

Have you checked your subscription status? What mode are you using? Does it have rules for the cameras?

The recordings are occurring infrequently now, which is better, but not perfect. One camera now has several lines across the screen when sending to the cloud. Manually played, it looks normal. Not sure where the gremlins are.

It sounds like you should contact official support. Use the app to go to Settings, Support. Select your camera and scroll down to Contacts to see what they offer, including a possible RMA.
