I am trying to figure out how to setup a rule or automation, or something, to make it so that when I set the Mode, it will change the exact type of motion that the device is detecting.

We currently have the Doorbell 2nd generation on our front door, and 2 Essential spotlight cameras aimed at the driveway/basement area. We also have an indoor outdoor cat who goes outside during the day, and spends his nights inside. The cat generates excessive notifications during the day, but at night we like to watch for wildlife visitors. We also are disabled and have problems with our packages being delivered and placed at random locations on the property, causing us an exhausting search job for which the camera help. There's also 1 person here who uses the driveway for their hobbies, again generating excessive notifications.

An example of my desired settings:

When the Mode is ARMED AWAY, the cat and hobbyist will be inside or away from the property, and the rest of us will also be away from the property, or in need of heightened security. I want:

- the driveway camera to detect animals, people, vehicles, and all other motion.

- basement detect animals, people, vehicles, and all other motion. I also want this camera to begin detecting packages.

-Doorbell to detect people, animals, vehicles, and all other motion. If it's possible to simultaneously detect packages at the Doorbell, that would be ideal.

When the Mode is ARMED HOME, everyone is home and awake/alert, the cat is outside, but the hobbyist is not working in the driveway. I want:

-driveway to detect people, vehicles, all other motion, and packages.

-Basement to detect people, vehicles, and all other motion.

-Doorbell to detect people, vehicles, and all other motion. If possible, I would also like the Doorbell to detect packages simultaneously.

When the Mode is STANDBY, we're all home, the cat is outside playing. The hobbyist is outside working in the driveway area, so there's no need to monitor for wayward packages there. I want:

-driveway to detect vehicles and all other motion.

-Basement to detect vehicles and all other motion.

-Doorbell to detect people, vehicles, and all other motion, AND packages

I know that I can manually change the settings for this, but even when we only had 1 camera, it was hard to remember to do this every day. Is there a way to AUTOMATE changing what gets detected (people, animals, packages, or vehicles) when I change the mode?

Is there a way to automatically switch which camera is detecting packages? If not, I high suggest adding the ability to make these changes with the next software update. It only makes sense that we might want to change what types of motion are detected, depending on what Mode the system is.

Also, as a second suggestion for a features change: I'm not sure why customers are limited to only one camera being able to detect packages at a time, but I suggest that Arlo Support should change this to at minimum allow for TWO cameras to detect packages at a time. Customers can be notified if a delivery is accidentally dropped at the basement door, and even respond it real time to tell FedEx to put packages on the porch. Simultaneously, the front porch doorbell can be monitoring for packages too and prevent porch pirates. Some customers might need a 3rd camera on their back door to check for packages; we all know that sometimes delivery drivers leave packages in strange and undesired places.

Can anyone assist me in how to automate these changes in what motion types are detected?

You can use Routines, Automations, Add Schedule to automate switching but it would seem that certain circumstances (working outdoors) would require manually switching modes. Does these FAQs help explain how to set up modes and a schedule that you can use?
