I have three essential xl gen 2 cameras, each about 1 year old. Every time the router gets an update and restarts one of the three invariably loses wifi connection. The app won't show my wifi network anymore while the other 2 cams are good. Nothing but restarting the router helps (despite it is restarted at the update). There's no battery issue, all 3 devices are within 5 meters distance from the router,. The troublemaker camera is updated and not even farthest away from the router. Laptop method won't help. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

A sidenote: battery life of all three is a joke compared to what is promised - one month is about the maximum for all devices.

I'm a bit surprised the router gets updates that frequently.  I can't guess as to why the cameras don't reconnect without another router reboot - that would seem to be a router issue.

Battery life is based on <5 minutes per day on average of recording and live viewing. You can add up the recordings times of each camera in Feed (you may need to delete activity zones if you have any defined so you get the true number). Another possibility is that there is signal interference with the 2.4GHz band from another wireless devices near your router. Finally, house construction can play a part, too, with stucco, brick and stone generally being the worst for signal blockage. You can use a WiFi signal app on your phone to check the actual signal strength at each location to see if that may be part of the issue.
