New camera user. Trying to figure out how, if even able, to NOT get notifications EVERY time I walk in and out of my house! I have myself set as a recognized person, yet get a notification any time I pass by the camera. Is there a step I'm missing?

telling between a person and an animal is an AI feature which can only be available if you pay the subscription, which is free for trial for new users.
If you are prepared to pay for subscriptions moving forward:
- I don't know, and am curious about, whether the AI can remember your face and NOT sending notification when you are in front of an activated camera. @StephenB ?
If you do NOT want to pay subscription (like myself):
- many of these AI recognization/ cloud recording/ live recording features will disappear after the subscription trial expires. That also means you would have wasted your initial product return period when you could have tried out the real features under the situation of no subscription.
- when there is no subscription, you will just receive notifications whatever is in front of the activated camera. It will be even "worse" than telling you it's a person. It will just tell you "motion detected" --- yes with notification every time.

Is it correctly recognizing you? Or is the recognition failing?

Person recognition doesn't (de)activate a notification - it just names it more accurately. The only way to not get a notification is in the camera's rules in Routines - edit Send Notification and turn it off.
