I use the current app to reduce the camera sensitivity of my essentials Gen 2 camera from 80% to 60%. The next time I open the app, the sensitivity is back to 80%.

By any chance did you use the Add an Action, Customize Device setting in the camera's rule in any mode? That changes what's set in Default Mode Settings in the camera settings although I wouldn't think there would be any such interaction between the two settings.

You may want to remove the camera from your account and add it back to see if that makes a difference.
