Been an Arlo customer for six years and never ever once has this happen. I purchased these cameras in January I like the fact that I do not need a base station anymore and you can have a CVR surveillance, even without it being charged however, this camera the battery dies quick so I keep the charging port in 24 seven it’s an outdoor camera and an charger. I have two other second generation essential cameras, so three total. Other two working fine all a sudden one of the cameras just stopped working. It was off-line, even though my connection is good, and my other two cameras are online remove the device from my account reinstalled it started working again, but the camera was very hot. I put the charging port back in placed it back on the mount worked for 20 minutes. Same thing happened again went off-line this time. It was so hot. It nearly burned my hand. What the hell is going on the device is a month old and already this is happening so damn aggravated

Sounds like it failed. You could try the hardware reset - holding down the pairing button until the camera LED flashes amber - about 15 seconds.
If that doesn't help, then your options are to exchange the camera with the seller or contact Arlo support and get an RMA. Exchanging is better if you can do it.

yes I did that and it wiped out my CVR plan. I had to redo it and pay more money. It worked for 10 minutes and then the red battery symbol showed up. That’s why I made a double post. I’m sorry

Unbelievable. Just got it in January and I missed the return window by a few days figures

You have a 1 year warranty. Use it. In the app, go to Settings, Support and check out the options to talk to official support for a possible RMA.
