Any update? I bought essential camera 2nd Generation and it does not connect to the base station VMB4000r3.   I would like to use the more reliable networking plus USB option for storage of the base station.

    Nick6688,

While Base Station/SmartHub is still planned for a future firmware release, I do not have information at this time for when that firmware will be ready and available for all users. Stay tuned for updates once we have more information available to share.

Thanks for the posts as I was just about to buy these cameras to replace my old H3 cameras .  The support page says it is compatible, so thanks for letting us know its not.

Actually it doesn't.  It lists the Essential (Gen 1) cameras but not the Gen 2.  And the VMC2050 is not listed at the top.

Hallo JamesC,

gibt es Neuigkeiten dazu? Ich habe jetzt das gleiche Problem, dass ich neugekaufte Kameras VMC 2050 nicht in mein vorhandenes Basisgerät VMB 4000 einbinbden kann.

Gruß, Egfri
