VMC2030 - Activity Zone won't show on the app of my family member's app + no notification

So recently, a family member bought this camera and initially we synced up the camera with my phone because I was available to do so. And on my phone I was able to access and set up an Activity Zone. But since my family member wasn’t getting notifications (presumably because I turned off notifications, which means it turns it off for everybody?), we decided to make it sync up with their camera instead, but now the Activity Zone setting doesn't appear to be on their phone. And on top of that, they are not getting notifications despite having everything turned on (we tried waving our hands in front of the camera as well as walking in front of it outside). 

Should we just buy a new camera? Make new accounts? We're a bit frustrated.

Did you remove the camera from your account and then onboard it to the other person's account? If so, did you set up the activity zone needed? It doesn't carry over from one account to another.
