Essential Indoor Camera - no live option

Am I missing something but why does the essential indoor camera not allow you to continually stream video? It’s been pinned as the Arlo baby replacement (which is so sad they discontinued) yet you can’t effectively use it as a baby monitor to stream ongoing video like the Arlo baby could. I don’t want to have to continually hit play/stream everytime I enter and exit the app. Am I missing something?!
