Arlo essential indoor cameras sync to my wi fi, not my base station

I use my system without a subscription. My base station blinks orange, not blue. My outdoor cameras work and record locally to my base station, but my newer indoor cameras sync to my wi fi, not to my base station. They can be viewed live but do not record. Removing them and setting them up again did not fix it. Any help would be appreciated

Are these Gen 2 models?

They can't connect to base stations yet.  Arlo says they will add that feature, but haven't said when.
