I have six arlo 1st and 2nd gen cameras and they've been working well with features like schedules for many years. I'm on the $12.99 basic plan. Recently one of the cameras is dying and I noticed features like package detection and geofencing either doesn't work well or not working at all. Despite that I've ordered an essential 2K as a replacement during their sales event. When I tried to install that I noticed I need to install their new app and with the new app it appears that I will have to move all my existing camera over. That's okay if everything remains the same but it appears some of the good old features like switching between custom modes and schedule is now gone. And it appears that I will have to switch to an move expensive plan. Is my observation correct? I've read some of the other posts and it appears that is what's happening but I just want to confirm I'm not missing something important please. If so I'm considering returning my new camera. It appears that I'm paying more for less don't you agree? Thanks in advance!!

Upgrading to the new app experience will result in changes to some features and where some things are located within the app. Things like Geofencing and Schedule are still present and you can edit the default modes within the app but custom modes are no longer available.

There are new plans available that you can read about on https://www.arlo.com/en-us/arlosecure.html but these plans are not required and you can remain on your existing plan if you choose to do so.
