Being a long time Arlo customer, it made sense to have a look at a arlo baby for my twins.
Getting the nodes set up and integrated to the app was easy, however the results so far have been a mixed bag mostly poor:
* battery life is horrible. Not even being able to sustain 8 hours makes these camera impossible to put in place overnight without a power source. Given Arloa historic position of being wire free, I had expected a little more.
* Live feed seems to stop randomly and without cause. This is quite concerning to wake in the middle of the night with no idea of when the audio stopped or if the kids have been crying.
* there is no option for live feed audio from multiple cameras. Unless you want the app to be running continuously and screen open, you can only get one feed.
* battery drain on devices from the app is huge. It will chew through a phone battery during a sleep cycle, so prepare to be tethered to a power point.
* have noticed the app logging itself out randomly again causing issues with being able to trust these devices.
In short, I am underwhelmed by the product experience to date. Worse, I am unable to put any trust into these devices which completely eliminates their value. I’m sure many of these items can be addressed by software fixes, so keen to understand if anyone else has experienced these issues or if Netgear/Arlo plan to address them. Otherwise I’ll be taking the cameras back and finding alternate options.
Cheers

Hi @DaveFromOz
'*battery life is horrible. Not even being able to sustain 8 hours makes these camera impossible to put in place overnight without a power source. Given Arloa historic position of being wire free, I had expected a little more."
- The batteries are designed to last up to 6 hrs when unplugged. I have attached the article with further information here. What is the expected battery life for Arlo Baby?
When you mention being logged out, is this the app crashing/closing, or is your account being logged out causing you to log back in with your credentials?

Thanks for the reply.
A few behaviours are evident, one is that the live feed will just stop. When opening the app to understand why, generally I’m forced to log back into the app with my credentials.
Other times the app just seems to hang and get stuck. Last night I checked the camera and saw my wife in the boys room, however she was actually sitting on the lounge with me. It seemed that there was s 15-20 minute lag.
Disappointing.

What IOS version are you running in your phone? Do you have the latest 12.2 OS installed?
Has the crashing/live view issue always occurred, or has this only been recently happening?
Does crashing/live view issue occur on WIFI & Mobile Data?

iOS version is 12.0 on an iPad.
The crashing issue has been happening since we purchased the cameras approximately 1-2 months ago.
Only running on WiFi, haven’t tried a live audio continuous stream over mobile data.
Cheers

Would you mind sharing the rationale and the line of investigation that you feel iOS 12.2 solves?

Still happening. Appears that the app just loses connectivity, disconnects and/or logs out.
Where to form here please?
