Arlo Baby Stand Alone

I'm new to Arlo and saw Arlo Baby at walmart and was wondering if I just buy it and connect it to my LAN and download the app will it work or do I have to buy the base station as well?

What happens if i buy Arlo Pro 2 cameras and add them to the app, will it complain for not having the base and not work? if it does work, is being able to save video the only added benefits for having a base station?

Any of the wireless cameras require a base to work. You wouldn't have any success adding them since the base has to be there first.
