I was led to believe that the Arlo chime had dog barking and house noise deterrent facility built in?

Hi @Glasto
You can set up your chime to play a sound when your camera detects motion. The camera must be in Armed mode or another mode in which it is active. I have provided the PDF with instructions on how to accomplish this. To set your chime to play a sound when a camera detects motion go to (page 18) within this PDF - Chime PDF

actually "dog barking" sounds from Arlo Chime - is this possible ?

Ok - I found that actually can do that all ready
If you go to the "mode" you can "programming" if any camera see any motion, to add a chime, and tell it to act like some one is in the house... very cool
