I've just realised that Arlo offer a "doorbell". The reason I put doorbell in quotes is because they offer if in two parts:

  1. The doorbell (which is a button that can sync with your cameras) - $79.99

  2. The chime (if the doorbell cannot sync with an existing chime unit) - $49.99

It's a shame the doorbell part doesn't have an integrated camera for that price.

There are 3 Arlo doorbells - the audio-only one and wired and wireless video camera versions. The audio one is no longer made so the video ones are the weapons of choice. They're more expensive as one would expect with video capability. And the extra chime makes a lot of sense to me - why include a chime as part of the package when an existing chime generally works fine and would only serve to add cost for something that may just get thrown away?

Besides, Amazon has a deal right now for the wireless doorbell for $99:

To be clear - all three of these doorbells are designed to work with traditional mechanical and digital chimes that are powered by low voltage AC.
