Turns out, you’re correct. However, it’s only possible if you use the smart hub and use of the smart hub introduces significant latency over having the unit directly connected to your WiFi. I’ve also found that six devices on each hub seems to cause significant delays in connecting when you start the app.

wired floodlights are not available through Apple's HomeKit... I see the prompts an upgrade to fix that for many months... when will Arlo fix the integration into HomeKit? All they say is we're working on it... I'm going to aggressively push the Arlo community and possible buyers to boycott Arlo until it's fixed. Many of have spent thousands of dollars on a system that was integrated, only to have Arlo pull a covert switch away from Apple without being honest with us. I never would have continued to buy into the Arlo ecosystem if I'd known they weren't going to maintain a fundamental feature. shame on Arlo...

Are you getting an error message when trying to set up the wired floodlight to Apple Home? The wired floodlight does indeed work with the Apple Home integration.

As of right now the only way is to connect through the hub.

Turns out I was incorrect in my assertion that HomeKit’s not supported. However, it’s only possible if you use a smart hub and use of the smart hub significantly increases an already irritating latency (>100%) over having the unit directly connected to your WiFi. I’ve also found that six devices on each hub seems to cause significant delays in connecting when you start the app. So, it becomes a very ugly trade off. And before you ask… 6E mesh WiFi network with 1Gig internet connection, with connections at 300-600 Megs across the local wireless LAN. Sadly, if someone asked me today if I’d recommend Arlo, I’d have to say there are better options.
