i purchased model #VMS3130 indoor/outdoo,night vision comes in dark can't see anything on camera

May be the distance to what you're trying to illuminate. 10-15 feet is about all you'll get. Ensure night vision is enabled, too - you should see the LEDs glow dull red when on.

An easy test is to turn on motion detect, then take the camera ( in hand ) and go in a dark room or closet ...move cam around then check library.

You can also see a slight red glow from the IRs around the lens area ( in dark )
