Subject: VMB 3000 Base Station Not Working - Suspicious Support Call and Unexpected Charges

Hello Arlo Community,

I’m reaching out because my Arlo VMB 3000 base station suddenly stopped working, and I am unable to reconnect it to my monitoring cameras. This issue has been incredibly frustrating, especially since my system has been running smoothly for several years.

I called a support number I had for Arlo (872-777-1246) to get some assistance. However, the person who answered the call seemed suspicious. He informed me that Arlo had changed its terms and that I would now need to pay $299 to continue service. When I purchased my Arlo system several years ago, there were no such fees, and this information was a complete shock to me.

Regardless of the fee claim, there is clearly something wrong with my system as I cannot add the base station back to connect my cameras. I’ve always valued the security and peace of mind Arlo provided, but this recent experience has been very disappointing.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues or encountered this unexpected service fee? Any help or guidance in resolving this problem with my base station would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
GG11

I believe you called a scam support center.

https://kb.arlo.com/000062119/How-can-I-avoid-Arlo-support-scams

That said, you are supposed to access support via the support center in the app (and unfortunately it does require a subscription).

Of course it is old, and might have just failed.

What is the LED status on the base?

Is there any sign that the base is receiving power from the adapter?
