First night with Arlo - battery went from 87% to 39% overnight with no recording at all

I setup camera, tried a few manual recordings which brought battery to 87%. Sat overnight looking at my driveway, woke up and battery reporting 39% and no emails or new recordings, so it did nothing all night. What's up?

Could be weak/bad batteries to start with and/or weak WiFi signal. If the camera has trouble maintaining connection with the base it will keep trying, depleting the batteries. How's the signal strength in Settings, My Devices?

hm, showing 60% now but showed 40% last night. I'll try moving the base station.

You can also use a WiFi monitor app to help locate for best signal and location.
