It sounds like you are referring to both Arlo Q cameras and Arlo Wire-Free cameras. While both types of cameras can be on the same account, the modes for each are separate.

Arlo Wire-Free cameras on the same base station can operate under a single mode or multiple custom modes.

Arlo Q's always operate exclusively and cannot be part of modes designed for the other cameras on your account. The base station for your Arlo Wire-Free cameras does not control the modes designed for the Arlo Q's.

I have two stand-alone cameras for inside and 3 for outside that use the base-station.

For the inside ones I can change the modes individualy for motion detection.

Am I right in assuming that I have no individual control over the stand-alone cameras and they are all activated or de-activated at the same time via the base-station?

Reason I ask is that when I log in it only shows the base station and the two inside cameras.

Second question, could I therefore use a second base-station and use that to separate the ones I need motion control with from those I do not.
