Arlo hub Wi-Fi name, security risk? Broadcasting publicly you have a Arlo hub.
Potentially inviting hackers and snoopers.

Is there a way to change the Wi-Fi name to something not so obvious.

Network security folks all say that hiding the network name is not an effective security measure. Hackers can easily find the network name even if you hide it.

So not a big risk in itself. It does allow someone who is specifically looking for Arlo to see that the cameras are in the area. But that's pretty much it. Personally I'm ok with that, as thieves generally look for the easiest targets. If they see security cameras are in use , then they hopefully will just move on to a different property.

That said, Arlo doesn't have a way to change the network name. It would be nice if they did (and also allow some other setting changes - for instance wifi channel use).

FWIW, most of the current Arlo cameras don't need a hub.
