topic Base Station is completely dead in Arlo

My base station is completely dead. It just "turned off" one day. I've used it for almost 2 years without issue. This may seem like a long time but for this device to just go "dead" is ridiculous.

It won't take any power source, I have tried multiple plugs.

Nothing happens. No lights come on the unit whatsoever.

NOTHING.

I'm also annoyed that I can't simply call/contact support directly. I understand that message boards are useful, really. But there are other posts like this one in which there is never a solution. And the company seems to just keep delaying actually helping the customer.

I need an Arlo representative to contact me to resolve this. It's unacceptable that a device like this should just poop out so completely. I own many much more inferior electronic products which have lasted (and are still working) for numerous decades. What gives?

That being said, any help/ideas from the community would be appreciated. Thanks.

It could be a failed base, but it could also be the power adapter.

I'd do a risk-buy of a compatible adapter and see if that resolves it.

I guess you could also try a paper-clip reset.

It’s like buying a new car, the previous model is always the most reliable then they roll out a new version and along comes the new bugs.

Always good to have a backup on hand, less of a nuisance when it happens.
