I know there is a USB option, does that prevent the videos from going to the cloud?

No, starting with the Pro series ( base model 4000 ) the USB backup is available.... ( not on 3000, Arlo HD )

BUT triggered recordings go to BOTH the cloud and the usb mem.

Only exception is IF the cameras are armed before ethernet connection is lost, then it should continue to record to the USB if previously setup .

BUT you also have no control/command of the units as control requests go thru the internet

A bit of concern in regards to privacy here. Not that any user would ever know what anyone form ALRO does, but can we at least assume no one from ARLO has access to recordings, or if a recording is made one is not particulate ok with (say by accident) Is there a way to delete it from the cloud?
