The pink is most likely due to the IR blocking filter not turned on. I read a different post where someone said his kid banged on the camera and it went pink. Recently, i dropped a camera about 2 feet onto carpet, in the daytime. The picture was pink. I then completeley covered the camera so it would think it was night, and remove the IR filter (even though it was already removed.) Then, when i uncovered the camera, it thought it was daytime, and pushed the IR filter back into the lens assembly. Everything looks normal again.

Has your camera seen a night/day cycle yet? That might "fix" it. Else, the filter is stuck somehow, in which case you may consider gentle tapping on the sides of the camera?
