What do you mean by long...How long ?

As to being notified, there is email and pushes... Pushes go out right away after triggered motion while emails go out after the file is created. So if the cam records for 30 secs, the email goes out 30 secs + event time for your service.

If you mean video, it also depends on if your using Smart.... a triggered event happen and the file goes upstream, the far end then analyzes the video and then if it fits the settings you have, sends it back to you. This take a min or more,... sometimes 3-5 if slower connections
