Why would my original Arlo be recording with Base off?

Why would my original arlo be recording with the base off . If there is a setting for this i can't find it ! Sure never happened before

The original camera only connects to the base, so it can't record if the base is turned off. Arlo Q, Arlo Baby and Arlo Go cameras don't use a base. All the others require one.

Can you give more details on what is happening?

Make sure your not confusing the amber led as recording... it usu means low battery. Which will occur if the base is off

As mentioned above , with no base it's a rock.
