Packages being stolen from our mailbox, but never a delivery video

Someone has been stealing our small packages from our mailbox so I have the camera pointed at our mailbox. We receive mail each weekday, but there are never any video of our mailpersondelivering the mail. Why is that? My subscription includes people detect.

How far is the camera from mail box.... what angle?

max distance for people is about 20 ft for the original Arlo HD

Not even that far! It's located on the porch pointing down to the mailbox, which also gets a shot at my front door. I always get pictures of the cars driving by, but not anyone passing by on the sidewalk. I even get our car passing the mailbox into the driveway, my son passing the mailbox walking from the driveway onto the porch, but never anyone passing by the gate where the mailbox is located.

Is your camera covering the mailbox from the side or is it covering it from the front (or back)?
