The Arlo Q does not require an ethernet port as it maintains a wireless connection to the router. Take a look at this article for more feature comparisons between the two systems: Arlo Wire-Free compared to Arlo Q

I want an ARLO system for Christmas but am not certain which version I should request from Santa.

I have a Netgear 150 router with three ports open. Does that mean that I can install only two ARLO Q cameras since one port is needed for your system?

HGN in Driftwood, Texas

The cameras use their own WiFi signal with the base station. Only the base needs an Ethernet port so you're fine.
