Car radio receives phone calls for hands free, but whenever I get an alert, anything I’m in (radio, cd, Pandora) these programs drop out and the screen shows no data provided.

I took the truck back to shop for troubleshooting, but they can’t figure it out so I thought I would try the community

It sounds like an incompatibility with your phone (which one and what OS?) and your media center in the truck (what brand and how new?).

Thanks for trying to help.

The phone is an Apple 5s. The media center is a brand new Pioneer AVH-501EX. I tried to send a picture of the box, but it bounced.

The pic wouldn't have helped me so no issue. I don't have an answer but the use of a 3rd party radio/media center compounds the issue. I don't have an issue with Cadillac CUE, FWIW.
