You can try removing the camera from Settings, My Devices and resync. If that doesn't work, you probably need to open a case with support here:

That doesn't work. When I install the new batteries the camera does nothing. I cannot put into sync mode.

To be clear, you're not pushing the batteries down when inserting them but letting the battery door do the pushing, right? And you've verified that the batteries are inserted with the polarity correct?
