I have the base station (Model: VMS3420) pluged into my Netgear router. Lights are on, on both units. When I try to have computer sync with base station it states "can not find". All are within a foot of eachother. Why?

Login to your account either in the app or on the website, (https://arlo.netgear.com/#/login). After logging in on the Device page, Add Device. Select your base station, followed by syncing the cameras one by one.

What are the LEDs on the base showing? Both power and Internet LEDs must be green.

To add to what jguerdat & brh mentioned, Have you tried to reboot the base station? You can also try to use a different port on router to the base station. If needed, you can perform a factory reset by plugging it in, let it boot, then press and hold reset until the LED lights flash amber.
