Cameras are late picking up movement

My camera points through a long hallway at my front door. When someone walks through the front door the camera waits about 20 seconds before starting to film. This long delay is unacceptable. How do I make the camera more sensitive to movement?

1) there is an adjustment for sense level

2) try to move the camera to a side wall so the motion is not so straight on to cam

3) some have stated the PIR is more sensitive if upside down and then the invert option is used in settings
