As JamesC suggests, interference can be the cause. Without trying troubleshooting steps, you can't be certain it was or wasn't the cause.

Interference can come from any 2.4GHz device, not just WiFi. Microwave ovens, cordless phones, lots of other consumer electronics use that band.

About every other saved clip is nothing but a black screen for 20 seconds. I think this is unacceptable.

https://arlo.netgear.com/hmsweb/users/library/share/link/7D8594C95939A566_201803

Bad enough that the clips a jerky and freeze frequently. Are there any solutions?

gdevo,

From the look of the provided video clip, this is likely to be caused by interference. How far away from the base station is your camera? What does the signal strength icon show in the interface for this camera?

Try temporarily moving the camera closer to the base station to see if you experience any different results.

I am not using wifi to connect to anything. I'm using a wired connection. Just goes to my router then off to the cloud. I have a smartthings hub, that's hard wired too.
