    <description>&lt;P&gt;No, the original Arlo HD camera takes 4 cells and there is no option for USB power.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;As to draining of batteries;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;It comes to a matter of a couple things.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;1) usage... live viewing or recording is spec at about 5 mins per day. Heavy usage will not&amp;nbsp; allow a long life of batteries.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The Arlo cameras I use run almost 4 months on OEM cells and 2 months on the rechargeables.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;There is the opton for rechargeables that are supported by Netgear&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;2) signal&amp;nbsp;strength... if the camera have a low signal to them or interference, they may use more power than needed&lt;/P&gt;</description>
